The China Resource Recycling Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Resource Recycling Group") held a technology innovation conference in Tianjin. "Since its establishment three months ago, the China Resource Recycling Group has placed technology innovation at the core of its overall development, insisting on leading the group's strategic planning work with technology innovation, formulating strategic plans around the '2+6+N' fields, systematically assessing the existing science and technology innovation resources, and orderly laying out innovative business areas," said Liu Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the China Resource Recycling Group.
According to reports, in the past three months, the directly affiliated unit of the China Resource Recycling Group, Ouyachainjin, has developed domestically leading AI intelligent inspection and sorting technology for recycled steel, achieving an accuracy rate at the domestic leading level; the directly affiliated unit, China Resources Environmental Protection, has established a joint research center for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, set up a joint laboratory with Tsinghua University Shenzhen Research Institute, and collaborated with the Guangzhou Institute of Energy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on a large scientific device platform for "enhancing the recycling capacity of new energy devices," relying on high-level, high-energy, and high-standard platforms to implement a number of major research projects.
At the same time, the China Resource Recycling Group is orderly laying out innovative business areas relying on technology innovation. For example, China Resources Environmental Protection acquired Xinyuan Jingwu, creating a full-color micro-layer technology to achieve green zero-waste high-value tiered utilization of retired photovoltaic components, providing new ideas for addressing the wave of photovoltaic retirements; the entrusted enterprise Hunan Lithium Huitong is building a digital research center for retired batteries, focusing on key technology breakthroughs in battery recycling detection and evaluation, disassembly and separation, crushing and sorting, forming an industry-leading technology system and achievement transformation advantages.
In addition, the China Resource Recycling Group is also focusing on the difficulties and bottlenecks in industrial development, exploring the "integration of production, education, research, and application" path through methods such as "inviting in" and "going out," and has successively connected with universities such as Tianjin University, Nankai University, and Central South University to jointly explore the path of integration; conducting research and exchanges at high-energy innovation platforms such as the Haihe Laboratory, exchanging opinions and reaching consensus on promoting high-level, multi-level empowerment; visiting leading enterprises in the power battery and retired new energy device industries to further understand industry development trends; negotiating and connecting with more than a hundred local governments, departments, and enterprises to explore diversified cooperation paths; and organizing six strategic discussions with industry-leading enterprises, academic experts, and senior government experts around the "2+6+N" business areas to clarify development ideas, identify development directions, and outline development blueprints.

At the conference site, the Advanced Technology Research Institute of the China Resource Recycling Group was officially inaugurated. The China Resource Recycling Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Nankai University, Tianjin University, Central South University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Tianjin Normal University, the Guangzhou Institute of Energy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and established a China Resource Recycling Technology Innovation Expert Committee led by academicians, continuously expanding the "circle of friends" and "think tank" of the China Resource Recycling Group. In the same occasion, the China Resource Recycling Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Management Committee of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City. China Resources Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreements and investment cooperation agreements with the Management Committee of the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Management Committee of the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, respectively.
Chen Zhongwei, an academician of the Royal Society of Canada, an academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and director of the National Key Laboratory of Energy Catalysis and Conversion, and Liu Meng, the Asia-Pacific representative of the United Nations Global Compact, also delivered special reports on site, sharing relevant experiences in the field of resource recycling with the representatives present.
"The establishment of the China Resource Recycling Group is of great significance for promoting the realization of China's 'carbon neutrality' goals and ensuring national resource security," said Mao Xinping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Carbon Neutrality Research Institute of Beijing University of Science and Technology. To achieve high-quality circular development, technological innovation is particularly important, and it is necessary to further strengthen basic research, key technology research and development, and build an application technology research innovation chain.
Mao Xinping believes that currently, universities have already laid out basic research on renewable resources, and the industry has reached a consensus on topics such as material recycling and sustainable material development, which undoubtedly lays a good foundation for the development of the resource recycling industry. "In the future, universities will have many cooperation directions with the China Resource Recycling Group in the fields of steel, non-ferrous metals, polymer materials, and energy materials," Mao Xinping stated.
Wang Rui, deputy director of the Management Committee of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, said in an interview that the Eco-City will provide solid support for the group in office buildings, office furniture, office supplies, guarantee vehicles, housing, and living facilities, and will provide proactive services in areas such as employee settlement, family migration, children's education, and housing security, coordinating high-quality resources in the Eco-City to ensure employees can work with peace of mind and happiness. At the same time, the Eco-City will deepen cooperation with the China Resource Recycling Group in areas such as the Advanced Technology Research Institute and industrial funds, continuously expanding international scientific research and academic exchanges with places like Singapore, actively establishing national key laboratories, and hosting international circular economy industry forums and other activities, striving to implement a number of new quality productivity cooperation projects in the field of circular economy, helping our city become the main battlefield of the national circular economy strategic layout.
